TISI Pipeline Inspection

Team’s TISI Pipelines, Inc. is a world-class inspection company that provides an array of specialty services related to the maintenance, inspection and construction of mechanical and piping systems. TISI Pipelines provides inspection personnel who are members of The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 112. TISI Pipelines has now incorporated Automated Ultrasonics by means of the Olympus PipeWizard (phased array) into its already proven NDT services.

TISI Pipelines personnel go through extensive training over and above their previous years of experience. We use a combination of both in-house and third-party training for all of our technicians to ensure a level of integrity and consistency. Each operator must undergo a minimum 120 hours of training; 40 hours theory for Phased Array Ultrasonics; 40 hours theory for AUT data interpretation; 40 hours practical on the PWZ PA System. We also encourage our employees to further familiarize themselves with the equipment on our various test pieces.

Capabilities

Girth Weld Inspection

Gas pipelines are made of high-strength steel and operate at a significant percentage of their yield strength. Pipes are girth welded on site, typically using automated welding systems. The Olympus PipeWIZARD is ideal for new construction pipeline inspection. PipeWIZARD enables special scans for specific defects: B-scans for porosity, Phased Array probes for zonal discrimination methods and tandem probes for centerline cracking
