Team’s composite material, third
generation circuit breaker repair clamp stops SF6 gas, leaks.
When you use Team’s composite
clamp to stop an SF 6 gas leak, it:
- Eliminates arcing
- Eliminates corona action completely
- Is totally non-metallic
- Can be formed to fit any configuration
- Can be utilized on leaking transformers as well as leaking circuit breakers
- Will work on either oil or gas leaks
Once the leak is identified, Team technicians
apply the clamp and hand-pump
special dielectric sealant to completely
seal your leaks.

Team’s technicians economically
perform nondestructive onsite,
in-place repairs to leaking transformers
(without draining the oil) and circuit
breakers leaking SF6 gas and/or oil.The
advantages to this unique service are:
- Below-the-top repairs often can be made with transformers in-service
- The need to drain transformer oil for leak repairs is eliminated
- Outages are kept to an absolute minimum
- Monthly reports on leaks are eliminated
- Action plans to repair leaks are eliminated
- Contamination hazards to the environment are eliminated
Leaking SF6 gas can affect personnel, equipment, and the
environment. Plus, it’s increasingly expensive to replace.
New leak detection technology now
enables utilities to survey entire energized
substations and pinpoint SF6 gas
leaks fast. This new technology can:
- Detect leaks with the equipment still in-service
- Quickly pinpoint the source of leaks
- Provide a method to complete a leak survey of an entire operational substation in less than a day
- Detect leaks as small as 2lbs/year
- Make leak detection less labor intensive and more reliable
Transformer leaks can be
repaired onsite without
draining your transformer oil.
In most cases, repairs can be made from
the top down while the transformer is
energized and in-service.
The type of transformer leaks Team
repairs include:
- All flange and flange ends
- All valve packings
- Expansion joints
- Bolted cover plate (tap changer)
- Porcelain bushings (flange and joint)
- Weld leaks
- Induction motor flanges
- Circulation oil pumps
- Manway covers
- Standard line flanges
- Bolt threads
- Radiator cooling fins, drain plug caps
